WALKER KENNEL

Feeding and General Care Instructions

Congratulations on your new puppy! To help, we have enclosed several points of advice to make the transition for you and your puppy a little smoother.

  1. It is strongly recommended that you continue to use the same type food that has been used while at Walker Kennel. (Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy Chow)
  2. Please allow your puppy access to feed and water at all times. For Toy breeds, warm water can be added to make gravy. This will spur their appetite.
  3. If your puppy is going to be exposed to small children, please supervise all activities. Small puppies are easily hurt, and injury can result in fatality.
  4. Arrange for a separate sleeping area for you puppy.( not a human bed)
  5. Blood sugar levels in toy breeds can be a problem. This is within your control. Hypoglycemia is caused by to little food or too much activity. Make sure your puppy eats and gets enough rest.
  6. As of the date of purchase, your puppy is current on all vaccines and dewormings. It is imperative that future vaccines and deworming are given on schedule. Ask your Veterinarian about vaccine schedules.
  7. Excessive holding can be extremely stressful.
  8. If your puppy is reluctant to eat, add chicken broth to its food and call Walker Kennel immediately.(912-422-3982 or 912-422-7719 or 912-393-4437)
  9. Remember! A puppy’s health is as good as the care it receives.

Young animals may refuse to eat due to separation anxiety. Therefore it is very important that their eating be closely monitored for the first few days in their new home. If problems should develop notify us immediately.

Remember, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Select your veterinarian today and put you asset under his or her advice and care. Do not allow your new pet to become a liability because of your failure to do so.

Have a great time with your new family member.

Thank you,

Leah Altman
